Paperbark Trees At The Lake

These paperbark trees are on a little island in the local lake where many ibis make their home and roost for the night. The lake is very full at the moment because of all the rain, usually the water level is much lower than this and under the trees is like a teeming little ibis town.

At the moment the ibis are busy making nests. They are renovating last years nests and making them even bigger, I think if you look in large you'll see a few big nests. There is a lot of activity and noise going on with mating rituals (which seems to be a bit early) and there appears to be many more of them this year.
