"The Shore tunnel" under construction

Hi blippers!

At first many thanks for your lovely comments and stars to my Rose Garden of the Arboretum yesterday!

Hot weather continues here, today +31c again. Nights are getting WARM too, +28c indoors as the concrete walls of our home are now warm by the hot weather. So, almost all of our family sleeps under moistured big bath towel - it helps nicely against the warm feeling - as long as the towel has moisture. And of course all our fans are on.

Oh well, it is good to remember, that it takes only 16 weeks as we in Finland most likely are shoveling snow again!

Still I like most of the old finnish saying "Ei lämmin luita riko" (Hot (air) will not break your bones).

However I slept badly. Still I tried to do some gardening in the morning - only to build some more shadows to the garden, actually ;) And in the afternoon we did a nice & slow bicycle trip to the coolest beach of the town with boys (my son and hubby). I had my Polar heart rate monitor on to see that the rate is ok all the time in the hot weather. And of course a lot of suntan lotion...

Well, well, we drove 10km (one way) by bike to realize that also the big lake Näsijärvi has +25c water temperature. Had then a coffee&cake break and drove back to our own beach. Took three hours and 22km altogheter.

The blip is on our way back, they are mining and blasting the tunnel to the shore of Näsijärvi -lake. In the link you can see how the tunnel blasting is going on. We were on the right end of the orange strong line on the map.

A large shot is available here, if you like!

"The implementation of the project includes moving highway 12 into a tunnel for a length of 2.3 km on the Santalahti–Naistenlahti stretch in Tampere. The required road and street arrangements, moving of lines and equipment, and interchange arrangements in Naistenlahti and Santalahti are also included in the project. As a whole, the changes will apply to a 4.2 km stretch of one of the main highways (Vt 12 Tampereen Rantaväylä)."

To my knowledge this all is done mainy because they want to build flats to the shore line of Näsijärvi, and therefore not all the citizens are positive about the very expensive project... More of the construction here, however, if you are interested.

Take care!

Susanna
