"In Honour of The Sheepdog", Kaituna Valley

Okay, so it's a bit of a cheeky play on last night's blip "In Honour of The Sheepdog, Lake Tekapo", but I just couldn't help it when seeing Jack at play up in our paddock this evening.

To get this angle, I shot the black and white boy from the bottom of the bank in the paddock. He's laying down like a good collie should only because there's a orange chucker ball at his feet (hidden in the long grass) and I'm holding the launcher in one hand, Nikon in the other. He's so easy to coax - not! The sun was just about to set as I shot this too, as can be seen by the bright ochre light on the hills behind.

Talking of last night's blip, thanks for the tremendous response from all you night sky lovers out there and for sending it all the way to the top of the Spotlight page. It was lovely to have two entries up there too for a while - the lake shore selfie holding its own... Obviously the Mackenzie country agrees with me!
