But, then again . . . . .

Teas in the Park.

During the annual "love your park week" (seriously), we have a little jamboree in the glen. Loads of stuff going on: river dipping, making bird boxes and bee boxes, model railway rides, three different bands including a Beatles tribute and, of course, buns and tea. Normally, I have plenty to do in an official capacity but today, having made and delivered my cheese scones, I was free to go on a history/geology/nature tour of the site of the old gunpowder factory; in spite of having lived here half my life there was planty to learn. That was followed up with a walk over the same route while receiving photography tuition; in reality, the tuition was a bit basic and we could have done without the walk which just served to waste time. The weather was good and we raised several hundred pounds to spend on maintaining and improving the glen.

A local scout troop were there this year, they spent a couple of nights camping and helped with the setting up and taking down of the facilities as well as being general dogsbodies. The blip is of their row of tents together with a selection of signs of the day.
