Tynemouth

So much choice of photo to blip today!
We drove 9 miles to the east of Newcastle to Tynemouth at the coast. We went to the market held in Tynemouth station (that I blipped last Sunday) but this was a special book week. I love looking at old books and got a great book about all the old cinemas in Newcastle. We then went for a walk along the beaches of Tynemouth including the award winning longsands beach. Saw lots of people surfing and kayaking. I took lots ofphotos of the old open air pool, such a shame that it's not in use anymore. Took lots of photos of the beaches but chose this one including the priory and lighthouses in the background.
We then returned to Newcastle to the Ouseburn area and explored. The Free Trade Inn beer garden gives fantastic views and a different perspective looking up the Tyne. We also went to the Tyne Bar and had a burger as they were having a BBQ there. We went for a walk to the ouseburn farm and up Stepney Bank to the small independent cinema, The Star & Shadow. Quite a long day of walking so going to have dinner at home and watch a movie. Since I can only blip one photo a day in gives me the perfect excuse to return to Ouseburn later in the week.....
