Help!

Went back to where I picked the blackberries the other day and spotted this amazing looking caterpillar on one of the leaves. Look large and see the long fine black hairs as well as the tufts on its back.

It has the look of something poisonous, what with the warning red and black as well as the bristles, so I left it where it was!

Don't know what it is and I can't find it in any of our books or on line, but I'm hoping a blipper will be able to help me?

Edit - I've found it! It's a Vapourer Moth Caterpillar - Orgyia antiqua - otherwise known as the Rusty Tussock moth. Now to find out how common they are in Orkney!
