Da Croft Hoose Museum

A lovely calm day of blue skies and sunshine and it was warmly welcomed after that wind and showery rain :)

Up early this morning with the sunshine through the window and off out with a load of clothes on the line :)
It was meant to be my day off work today but cover was required at the Croft House Museum, so off I went and I get tomorrow off instead :) It's been a fairly quiet day at work, not many visitors about. Not sure if it was the fine day putting folk off but thought more would have been around enjoying the day and visiting the museum.
A lovely fine evening and off out into the garden with the dogs to mow the lawn. Been a peerie start since I last cut the grass and took a bit longer than it should have done :)

With the quiet day, I got to spent quite a bit of time outside in the garden at the Croft House. It's based on a croft house from the 1880s and you can see the traditional tekkit (thatch) roof here, held down for extra support with stones and homemade ropes. Taken at South Voe, Boddam.
