Rogue Sunflower.

I had intended to plant some sunflowers this spring...but that didn't happen. But luckily some generous little bird must have thought i need a bright sunflower in amongst the swizz chard...there is another one amongst the carrots!

I've had a delightfully empty day! lovely leisurely breakfast of french toast made for me by Terry.....reading, a bit of dabbling with the paints....a lovely walk, even altho it is very mizzly out there today, it was just glorious to slowly wander thro the moss covered forest. I hardly recognized the trail it has been so long since i've walked it!

I'm even taking tomorrow off too....feels very luxurious!

and this lovely poem came across my desk yesterday....seems appropriate!

Song of the Builders

On a summer morning
I sat down
on a hillside
to think about God -

a worthy pastime.
Near me, I saw
a single cricket;
it was moving the grains of the hillside

this way and that way.
How great was its energy,
how humble its effort.
Let us hope

it will always be like this,
each of us going on
in our inexplicable ways
building the universe.
