I wish it would...

Nowadays, even in primary school, kids do things on computers. They do things like Mathletics, which, while I'm sure I did ok without, is pretty good. Mathletics, and the reading equivalent, Reading Eggs, use Flash (grrr) so the website doesn't run on iThings. There is a Mathletics iOS app, but it doesn't have everything on it. We have an app (Rover) that would provide access to Mathletics, running the Flash-based stuff on remote servers. All fine, except ...

I had blocked YouTube on the iThings the kids use, but of course they found the browser on this app allowed access to YouTube.

Damn.

So ... with that, and the fact that running the website at such remove was really sketchy, leading to many requests for use of mrs tsuken's laptop, we decided to buy a little cheap laptop for the kids. Not a MacBook, because we didn't want to spend that much. So we grabbed an HP little thing for a few hundred. It has Windows 8.

It. Is. The. Worst. Piece. Of. Technological. Dung. I. Have. EVAR. Used.

EVAR.

That refers both to the computer's hardware, and to Windoze 8.

Awful.

I have had to restore it twice.

Trying to do anything at all takes half an age (a geological age, that is), and it keeps popping up random dialogue boxes at random intervals demanding some stupid something.

Should've dropped several hundred more and got a MacBook.

Thus I wish this Dalek would do what it does best. xP
