When Summer's end is nighing

So here's an end of roaming
On eves when autumn nighs:
The ear too fondly listens
For summer's parting sighs,
And then the heart replies.

From AE Houseman When Summer's end is Nighing

And end of the season feeling today - grey and mizzle bringing an end to the spate of wonderful weather. One of the pubs has closed, as have several cafes, visitors are getting thin on the ground, swallows are gathering ready to depart, the garden is flopping and today's swim was a bit arctic.

Birthday pressies continue to come in - Ian McEwen's The Children's Act and The Ceaseless Roar by Robert Plant - take a listen to the fantastic opening track. . Thanks Wilf.
