A Diamond Wedding

60th wedding anniversary are almost as rare as hen's teeth these days, but we were in Perthshire today to celebrate the Diamond Anniversary of His Lordship's brother and sister in law, along with their entire family save two who couldn't make it.

It was a beautiful day for it, and the views from the hotel over the golden fields and far hills bathed in sunshine were glorious.

A jolly affair the lunch was too, with much eating, quaffing of wine and general cameraderie amongst members who only see each other occasionally.
As the second wife, so to speak, I have been welcomed with open arms into this large clan and love meeting them all, even though I am conscious that the Lady Findhorn, they see is someone whose own family is not part of the equation and whom they have never met, leaving me feeling just a bit incomplete- the downside of late in life second marriages.

But nevertheless a lovely day and a splendid celebration of a marriage that has been a wonderful partnership for all these years and hopefully for many more to come.
