Chisholm House

This is the best of a pretty meagre harvest of pictures I took out of a window at the Edinburgh Centre for Carbon Innovation, where I was attending a meeting this morning. This is a more unusal view of Chisholm House, the one remaining 'house' on the old Surgeon's Square. This part of Edinburgh has an interesting history, as was revealed when the ECCI was renovated recently. It feels like a jolly nice building inside. I remember someone telling me years and years ago, on one of my first ever trips to Edinburgh, that Chisholm House was the best bit of real estate that the University possessed, and it had taken him 20 years of manoeuvring within the institution to get an office inside it.

Later on, I made my first ever visit to the Library of the School of Scottish Studies to retrieve the books that were being discussed yesterday.
