Thursday 25 February 2010: Sign of the Times...
Today Terry made 2 beautiful signs for Big Hill Pottery.....yahooo!!! He made them using a 6' piece from a maple tree he actually cut down on his property, a few years ago, put it thro his saw mill (he doesn't have one anymore) and milled the piece of wood that the 2 signs are made from. they are lovely! As you can see here, he has left the edge of the sign in it's raw form, i love that!!!! They will be varnished and the letters will be painted red, to match the roof (of course!).
I had a good and productive day in the studio, making mugs, teapots and a new planter form that incorporates a place to collect the drainage water....i'll blip them when they're ready....i really like them!
