Tourism

Last day so after the usual eat-tip-you're-sick breakfast we took our luggage to Alexanderplatz to dump it in a locker and then headed to the local "art" and "antiques" market for a wee bit of a wander before heading back and starting the trek out to the airport. It was going to take a little longer since the unionised train drivers were having a wee strike, which meant the trains (regional train and S-bahn) were out of action but the U-bahn and buses were still working. So we could get to the airport, it would just take twice as long and everything would be twice as busy.

All went well and we got there in plenty of time to find that the flight was two hours late so there was nothing else for it but to sit in the Irish themed bar and have beer. And pretzel.

I could see there was something rigged up to the very tall hotel at Alexanderplatz but still couldn't work out what the guy was taking photos of. There may be other photos but they were taken on a wee Olympus Pen EE S which Ewan had been using but couldn't be bothered with today. People who like this kind of thing will recognise the meter around the lens, which was carried on to the Olympus Trip, which seems appropriate this week.
