Two Peg Washing Day

The back end of Hurricane Gonzalo hit the country today and we awoke to heavy rain and high winds in between glorious blue skies. I took a gamble and put the holiday washing in the machine and then had to keep diving out to retrieve it from the line. Watching the news at lunchtime I smiled when a reporter being blown around somewhere in Scotland tried to ratchet up the drama. He asked a local woman how she was coping in the weather and she replied, 'Well it's a two peg washing day isn't it?'

On a serious note there have been casualties of the weather today so I do hope you are now all cosily tucked in your homes as Gonzalo moves through and away.
