John Line butchers

To my surprise and delight, Roger Tooth, picture editor of the Guardian phoned me yesterday and asked if he could film me photographing my picture of the day today.

After being interviewed at home I took him for a walk up the Harrow Road to find an interesting local shop. After speaking to the owner about who we were and what we were doing, we tucked ourselves away in the corner and I started taking pictures while Roger filmed me.

I was aware of not photographing the customers without their consent or being intrusive, however Mrs Jenkins started chatting to me, so I asked if I could capture her too.
