The accidental finding

"A man's maturity consists of having found again the sense of seriousness one had as a child, at play" Nietszche, Beyond Good and Evil.

These players, with their floppy blonde hair straight out of the Mothercare catalogue 1972, were enjoying the facilities in the childrens' area at the subscription rooms in Stroud. A full-day consultation event had been arranged to discuss the drawing up of the Neighbourhood Development Plan for Stroud. CleanSteve is on the steering group, and the team been working on planning this event for several weeks. I was invited to run the playspace, which turned out to be quite a lot of fun. Certainly, it was far less stressful than some of the other creches I've been involved in over the years (the one that springs to mind is the even where we had seven babies, and their teen mothers in the next room, just before Christmas, and someone had decided that all the babies needed to "make" Christmas cards for their mothers, but we didn't know how to spell half the babies' names!)

We're both really tired now, after the build up to this event. Have lit a fire, but CleanSteve is asleep already, with Bomble on his lap. It's not yet nine, but feels like midnight already. Happy Saturday night, Blipworld!
