Wear and tear

The sun was warm enough for us to sit outside with our coffee after lunch, so I noticed this combination of iron (rusted), wood (fairly recently painted) and stone - the local limestone which erodes beautifully over the years. And this stone surround to our front door has seen many years of erosion - the house in its present form dates from 1807, but the ground floor was here, probably, a couple of hundred years before that.
