Saturday 10 April 2010: A grand day out
Took advantage of the glorious weather and went to visit the Wallace Monument. In spite of having driven past it a fair number of times, I'd never actually been there.
Quite a place, with superb views. Matt and Andy were counting the steps on the way back down: both came up with different totals, and when they tried to verify them with the lady at the information deek, she said they were both wrong. "You'd better go back and count them again," she chuckled. To her - and our - surprise, Matt did. Still didn't get the right number* though.
With all the talk of battles and putting the English to the sword, the lads became bloodthirsty and armed themselves. As the nearest Englishman, I couldn't help feeling nervous...
* It's 246, in case you're interested.
