Kielder Castle

It's not even a proper castle, it's a castellated folly built by some Duke of Northumberland as a hunting lodge. Still, nice wee place with displays of old things and some environmental things. Fifteen minutes not entirely wasted and it was free. Decent cafe and a webcam trained in the nesting site of Kielder's new ospreys. Good swing park but only baby swings so Ewan had to squash himself in. A wheelchair (and therefore pram) friendly walk too. The day's excitement was wondering whether we would run out of petrol having driven 20 miles from the nearest petrol station, which is in Bellingham, close to our hotel.
