Silvas Capitalis

Just along from our camping spot sits Silvas Capitalis, the forest head. A huge head made of Larch and held together without screws or nails.

Ewan's late night and early rise left him tired and not even chocolate brownie for breakfast could keep him warm so he went around all morning complaining about cold feet until, at our lunch stop, I warmed them up by pouring a Kelly Kettle full of boiling water over his wellies. The paddle back to the shore was a long slog into the wind and tired boy wasn't helping much. Still, a nice wee trip and Ewan had a great time. Having pulled it off without mishap we'll be allowed out again although maybe next time we'll leave the tent at home and make a nice wee bivvy out of the canoe and a tarp.
