The Pensioner

Aye aye, Cap'n!

Here's Cap'n M: today I managed to blag a trip on his boat the Sonas up the Forth from Port Edgar, and back down. Fine light airs and a good sail but why am I below decks? Why is he looking at me like that? Why does my tea mug have cabin boy on it?
Worse for my poor son who borrowed my Hearts ticket to see them get leathered by M.O.T.H.E.R.W.E.L.L.
I managed a pint after the game before going up to Polwarth to see Josef Tarnowski talking about his life - he's 88 years old and his book Walking with Shadows tells his story from the Polish resistance through the Gulags to being a paratrooper at Arnhem. A great wee session and there was food laid on too. And a BYOB - but I didn't know!
And coincidence or what, met a bloke from old University days and we had so many friends in common. Chummed him back to his gaff to look at old photos before I legged it back to Diggery Dogs to meet Steve T who had been down with his son Joe to see Newcastle FC get some silverware for their endeavours in the Championship.
Time for kip!
