Scotland's Riviera

You've got to admire the chutzpah of people in marketing, especially the people who have to take Scotland's unspectacular attractions and try to sell them to unsuspecting tourists. Aberdour's beach is nice on a good day. Calling it Silver Sands is stretching things a little. Calling Silver Sands, with its fine view of Burntisland's industrial shorefront, Scotland's Riviera is taking the piss.

But we had a fine walk anyway - my lot, the Moores and half of the Kirkpatricks. More importantly we're on the brink of re-establishing the Sunday walks as a bit of a routine. A fine way of spending a winter Sunday tramping around bits of the Central belt, with a bit of a picnic and some cups of tea.

The weather was a bit iffy, with cloudy skies, some drizzle and the occasional downpour and we managed to get a few miles out of the bairns before the complaining started. Luckily we weren't too far from the tea room at Aberdour Castle and cake.

Got home to a wee bit of DIY (more draught excluding in the back kitchen / brewery / bakery / darkroom) and then some film developing. This evening will be scanning while watching a film.
