Local Christmas Card Run

First of all a massive thank you to everyone for their favourites and positive comments to yesterday's Kingfisher blip. Hitting the Spotlight and Rated Pages made it quite a special day for me.

Got the bike out for the delivering our local Christmas cards this morning. It tends to be parked up for winter, so great respect to AkkuV who's still cycling to work in the Finnish snows. Of course I took the camera along on the lookout for a blip.

Here we have the Village Green, with Christmas Tree, Bus Shelter and Village Pub. I have tried to take a photo of the tree at night, but have failed to come up with anything to my satisfaction.

So regular viewers will know the village pub is the home for Andrew's Pub Quiz and as I intimated Last Week we won for the second week running, but had quite a lot of questions wrong, but fortunately so did the other teams.

Here's the offending questions, see whether you could have improved our score:

1. Used for puddings, soups and to make couscous, what name is given to the large hard grains of wheat left after flour has been sieved or bolted?
2. In which county is the village of Naseby, site of a battle in 1645?
3. Nicknamed the Hawkeye State, which US state has cities named Delhi, Manchester and Dundee?
4. What is the collective noun for bears?
5. Which children's edutainment programme stars Howard Read as Big Howard and his six-year-old animated friend, Little Howard?
6. Complete the title of this film sequel: "Die Hard 2:..."
7. Which country won the 2010 Davis Cup?
8. How many years is a quindecennial anniversary?
9. Name two of the three actors who took the title roles in the 1987 film Three Men and A Baby.
10. Which Greek Island is also known as Santorini?
11. Which two of the Jackson 5 had solo success in the UK?

I've posted the answers in the comments.

And now the plug for Andrew who's good enough to email me the above so's I don't have to type them out:

The quiz is well & enjoyably run by Andrew and as his website says "If you're in London, Essex, Herts, Beds or Bucks - Want to hold a quiz event but can't find a quiz master? - Want a fun evening?" Then give him a call.

We'll be back down there tonight going for three in a row.
