horns of wilmington's cow

Closer Still...

As with the Waxwing Scrum of a week ago today, I make no apologies for a blipof something already photographed recently (in this case my shot from yesterday). I'm closing in on the 'great' Kingfisher shot (with the likes of this from Mel Taylor something to aspire to). This beastie today being in shade, and the lens being a bit rubbish at slow speeds, means it's nowhere near pin sharp.

But getting there, and it's something that will always brighten up a lunchtime wander. Any other day and this Wren would have got the blipnod. Actually, the Water of Leith was absolutely bustling with life - Goldcrest, Blue, Great and Long-Tailed Tit, Mallard, Dipper, Chaffinch, Greenfinch, Blackbird, Pigeon, Crow. And possibly some Redwing, but they are incredibly flighty.

Anyway, enough ornithological inspiration. Time to batten down the hatches, and break out the quad bike snowplough, for Snowmageddon II is on the way! Which means the Amazon stuff I ordered on the 6th, and which was despatched on the 8th, is incredibly unlikely to make it here in time for the weekend and a run down to Newcastle on Sunday for a present swap. Gah!
