River Dee at Tongland

Today's the day ……………………. for a view from the bridge

The River Dee was flowing fast and furious under the Tongland Bridge today - even at low tide.  Perhaps some water had been let out of the reservoir that feeds the Hydro-electric Power Station further upstream?

Those arches that you can see on the other side of the river are remnants of the old railway viaduct that carried the railway line from Castle Douglas to Kirkcudbright.  I'm sure I'll be telling you more about that viaduct in due course - because the other end of it is in our back garden.

Just thought I would mention it ………………………..!
