No 2 Barrier

One of the hazards of life in Burray is that if we get the high tide and high wind in the right (or maybe wrong) direction the sea comes right over the barriers. If it gets bad, i.e. several tons of water smacking down onto the road from a great height, the road gets closed. Today is one of those days.

If you're lucky you get sent home from school or work early so that you manage to get back OK. If you're unlucky you get stuck. If your really unlucky you get to swim with the fishes.

Pity I work from home, I would have the afternoon off by now. Instead I have 2 noisy assistants home from school (teachers live across the barriers, so schools out)

Apologies for the out of focus picture. It was taken through the rainy windscreen of the car whilst the car was shaking in the wind. It wasn't high tide yet, another 2 or 3 hours to go. But I wasn't going to hang about till then.
