Edge of the Atlantic

We picked up Campbell after school and headed up to Birsay. Wee scone is missing his big brother and we thought a trip out west, some rockpooling and a wander along the shore would cheer him up. We drove through some heavy showers on the way there but we timed it just right and the sun came out. We did do a bit of rummaging amongst the sand and rocks but it was way to cold for serious rockpooling. However Campbell managed to pick up lots of bits and pieces, he was especially proud of the weird shaped seaweed. And thankfully decided that dead birds wouldn't fit in his bucket.

Whilst not ideal for wading around in water the weather conditions were throwing up some very pretty waves. I'm very lucky to be surrounded by the sea. So I hope everyone who couldn't get to an ocean today enjoys this little slice of shore, breath deep!
