Down by the Harbour!

Being a potter, i really need my fingers to work well....so, what with the slicing job i did on 2 fingers, on my right hand, the other day....I haven't been able to work in the studio - which leaves this weird sort of void in my day! The day after it happened was ok, cos i had lots of mugs to be trimmed and handled, kiln to be unloaded etc......work that doesn't involve getting my hands wet, Yesterday was fine, i needed to photograph images of my work for the artists map coming out in a couple of months....nice clean work which i enjoyed so much. I was musing on how it used to be many years ago, before i had a good digital camera....i would have to lug my work to a photographer, let them do the work and charge me lots (not i didn't think they were worth it, they were!! it was just expensive!) and now, i set up a simple photography stage in my living room, take some shots, head up to the computer - check them out, reshot the ones i'm not happy with....so simple and cheap!!! Then today, decided it was a good time to do some 'deep cleaning'......believe me our place needed it!!! so after many hours of that gig, i got the cabin fever real bad!!!! so i headed in to Baddeck, to the co-op and did some shopping, had a hug and a chat with the lovely Matt, then took a wonderful walk along the boardwalk by the water! simply divine! no hat, gloves or big boots, even thought twice about the windproof jacket....but i was glad i did wear it!

We've just had a delicious dinner.....pesto pasta...with: tomatoes, olives, avocado and shrimp sauteed in garlic and olive oil....oh my god....it was just so good!!! i am shameless cook, if i hit upon a good combination i don't hold back on my gasps of wonder at how amazing it tastes :)

Hopefully the fingers will be healed enough for me to head back into the studio tomorrow......we'll see !
