Palm flowers

... and a balcony. In Hérepian this morning I noticed that the palm trees were flowering - potential dates although they don't mature into edible fruit here as they do in North Africa.

I took some other shots with more sunlight in them, but I liked the shady mood of this one.

We were on our way back from Bédarieux where we'd bought grafted (onto tomato roots) aubergine plants, some of the few plants that we buy, because the grafted ones produce many, many more aubergines and they're my favourite vegetable. This year we're growing some non-grafted ones as well, so we can compare.
