Magnets

A 'Magnet' day.

Started off early with the man from JL (VERY high tech), then off to Magnet (1).

After a creative 90 minutes it was back to Princes St to pick up more Fringe tickets and meet another 'guru' who sorted my widget problem. Misguidedly I took the #36 to Holyrood. Got stuck in the jam at the entrance to the Park. 'Foodies at the Festival' started there today, but the rain over the last 2 days (a month's rainfall in 2 days) meant that it opened about 3 hours late. When S and I finally got in it was a bit of a quagmire, despite the straw and matting that had been put down. We had a walk round and a couple of drinks but it wasn't pleasant. A wasted tenner. Don't know what it will be like now as it rained later in the evening and the event continues on Saturday and Sunday, when MORE rain is forecast. You can see the 'lake' here.

Then it was a brisk walk up to the Assembly at George Sq for The Magnets (2) (or is that 6?). Brilliant. The finale A-Z of film themes was fantastic, not that I guessed them all. They're just back from Australia; the Adelaide Cabaret Festival, Melbourne, Sydney and Noosa. Any blippers see them there? It was the first time I'd been in the historic Spiegeltent, although I'd seen it Edinburgh many times. This is the inside.

At the end of the show the guys were out talking to fans, getting photos taking and autographing flyers and CDs. Good opportunity for a Festival blip.

But it's still wet and cold and dreich and I finished the day by 'trudging', on a #11, up to E's to look after the incontinent spaniel with Alzheimer's and the cat. Poor Molly is 'home alone'. She won't like that.
