Towne Bank Building

circa late 1900s

Here is my find today in my lettering and topography quest near the TCC Visual Arts Center.

The lettering for Towne Bank is set in exaggerated, verging on decorative, Egyptian serif typeface. The flared horizontal strokes are the key to the design.

The highly reflective material of the business name/logo, as well as the windows which are in the same bronze color scheme, caught the sun's gorgeous orange rays creating a luminous piece of art as seen across the rooftops of Portsmouth which in themselves offer a study in shape and design.
