Living dangerously

We decided to do a big walk today - son number 1 wanted to walk up to the old signal station which involved a hike along a mountain ridge. Wild weather - sunshine, wind, hail, rainbows. We attempted the walk and got as far as an old pill box where we had to shelter as we could see a huge hailstorm heading in our direction. There was no glass left in the windows and the hail came through horizontally!! it was perishing but spectacular as something different was happening wherever you looked. Son number 2 and I wimped out of carrying on which was just as well as I was nearly blown off the ridge on the return!! My mac inflated and I was almost airborne.
Not entirely satisfied with the excursion we headed off to the northside to see some waves. We arrived at Gortnakilla and the waves were colossal and exhilarating. Son number 1 went dangerously close to the edge and was soaked! This is son number 2's blip of his brother living dangerously!and this is the view! of the man himself! I kept at a respectful distance!

On the way back the most enormous double rainbow filled the sky. Now we were all entirely satisfied, frozen and hungry.
I have since made the mince pies but the cake is still waiting to be iced.Son number 1's headed off to find a suitable movie for family viewing (no one else was brave enough to take on the near impossible task) and son number 2 is glued to his laptop.
