An ordinary life....

The one with the MP and the Monster...

Up and out the house sharp this morning and off to the Craighalbert Centre coffee morning.

Monthly Saturday School was also running so the children who normally attend were able to bring grans and grandpas, aunties and uncles, to see what they get up to one Saturday a month. A lovely morning with tons of homebaking, handmade card stall, homebaking, jewellery, scarfs, homebaking, handbags, homebaking, birdfeeders, homebaking, notelet cards made by the children using their own art work AND photographs (some seriouly good photographs!) and cupcakes......oh and did I mention there was homebaking? ;-))

We even had a visit from our local MP Gregg McClymont and I had the honour of showing him round and telling him all about the work of the Centre. I am absolutely passionate about this place and 15 years down the line from when we first walked in the doors with Alan then aged 7 months, it still angers me beyond belief that parents have to fight so hard to get funding from their local authorities to allow their children to attend. (I could rant on but wont - for now ;-)

Anyway, after and hour and a half of listening to me extolling the virtues of the Centre and my frustrations at statutory services, Gregg was more than happy to pose with Sully to fulfill today's blip space. Anything to shut me up! lol

Hopefully the coffee morning will have raised a decent sum...purely in the interests of fundraising I was forced to buy an iced gingerbread, carrot cake, victoria sponge and half a dozen scones....oh and 5 more chicks so that when the cream eggs are gone, my hen's eggs will have the coolest of disguises :-)))

Off out shortly to D's sister's for dinner and a fashion parade.....niece Jen has been out shopping for her prom dress! I am sure a refreshing tall glass of G&T with ice and a slice will figure in there somewhere too.......happy days :-))

Hope everyone's having a great weekend....will do my best to catch up with your journals but at the house tomorrow with no wifi so time will be short :( xx

P.S. pssst....come closer....juicy political gossip..... Monster's Inc is apparently one of Gregg's favourite films....you heard it here first! ;-)))
