Sunday 1 April 2012: My 70s
Fame at last! I've just been the guest listener with 'My 70s' on the Johnnie Walker show on Radio 2. He played my tracks and stories from Lindisfarne, Free, David Bowie, Mott the Hoople and The Commodores. One of my stories was from when my friends and I formed a dance group in the sixth form. We persuaded our teacher to allow us to dance to Bowie's 'Time' but there is a dodgy lyric that she was worried about. She directed us to scream randomly over the lyric which probably brought more attention to it than if we had just let it go. Johnnie (we are on first name terms now!) played the track but edited the lyric - obviously too soon for the watershed! Oo that was exciting!
