Usery Mt. Desert Park

Our last day in the Phoenix area was spent revisiting a couple places we had enjoyed years ago. We used to visit my folks who wintered in Mesa AZ at my older brother's home he once had there. Martin came along on our spring break trips each year.

We first went up to Saguaro Lake for the views and lunch. Then we went to Usery Mt. Park and spent some time photographing flowers and scenery. As we drove into the park Martin exclaimed "there's the mountain we climbed back then!". I remarked " no, that one is too big, we climbed the one over there". It took him awhile to admit "defeat" and that indeed we had climbed the "tiny" one. I reminded him that he was only five years old back then and the mountain, as well as many other things, looked much bigger to him then!

Before taking off for Seattle and home we successfully found a camera store--hard to fine one there-to replace a couple broken UV filters---not too big a loss for the entire trip! Here you see a collage with some of the flowers and the giant mountain we both climbed several moons ago:)
