Swapsies....

Remember that Austin Healey 3000 pictured yesterday? Well today it turned into an MGB Roadster. Why? Well it appears the starter motor in the Healey may have burnt out - at least, there was a horrible burning smell, and accompanying wisp of smoke from the footwell, as we pulled into Aberfoyle. Not to worry, an hour in the sun waiting for the guy who owns all the cars - helped him bumpstart the Healey, and he took the chance of it burning to the ground to drive it back to Dollar, leaving us with a '74 MGB Roadster.

Not quite as 'magical' as the Healey, or as pretty, but it's got its own charm and, perhaps crucially, it drives so much better. The Healey is an experience, the MG is involving without being as tiring. I'm actually quite happy to have had the chance to try out two different classics, and the MG is closer to the affordable classic that we might wind up with at some point. Oh, and it's a lot cheaper, so I should get some money back when I drop the car off tomorrow.

So anyway, before all of that excitement, we took the car for a spin up to the Lake of Menteith (the only 'lake' in Scotland dontcha know) for the boat trip out to Inchmahome Priory. What I hadn't expected were FOUR Ospreys circling above the island, after starting with one from afar. Excellent!

But the Great Crested Grebe wins out, actually, could have been this shot as well, but I like the light and green on this.
