Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

Boats and rowers

Well, late last night I was so tired that I couldn't decide on one picture - so here is a collage - but when I tried to post it, the internet quit. So i quit. It's now sunday morn
ing.
What a fine day! the quad went out first into barely lifted fog and grey skies and slight chop (see photo lower right, with one rower in my lovely dory), then a second time when the water went flat and the sun peeped out (see upper left sky with one rower out in our alden rowing shell. ) Here was my chance to get a photo of all our boats on the dock at once. (Can one have too many boats? I think not.)
Then after yummy strada, we climbed to the top of the hill and pulled that pesky weed scots broom for some time in the sun. Then around 3, the quad went out again in HOT(!) and mirror-like water conditions. by the time they came back a COLD breeze had come up and after listening to the marine forecast, we decided to put a few boats away. It was a good call. We just had managed to get the quad down to the beach in a strong west wind, when the bay was filled with whitecaps and lashing rain and wind. Whew, time to go inside, )rather than the beach where we had wanted to have cocktail hour.
The storm didn't last too long thank goodness, and we managed to get the group portrait on the deck in what should have been a sunset, but was merely dripping water from the roof. Former blipper Islandcat and hubby came for dinner-she rowed with us earlier.. A pretty good day in rowing camp!
