Tuesday 26 June 2012: Red and green....
... should never be seen, but I rather like it. This old water hydrant can be spotted in Ballydehob and the red shows off its style beautifully. It dates from around 1913 and still has its acorn finial, but the handle has been replaced by a tap. There are several of them dotted around the village. The reminded me of Red Flash's bollards!!
A very dull day - we have been in thick fat, humid, damp mizzle all day. However , I have just resturned from a 5 hour lunch - nearly as long as Chaiselongue was describing the other day! This was our end of term bash and was held in the local restaurant - courtesy of the owner who has just sent three of his children to our school and is delighted. The craic was mighty, the wine flowed and three courses were consumed - I am now bulging.
