...Team Hummie Cleans up at Tallyho Olympics!!!

After an exhausting day of covering non-stop events, I am happy (and a bit sad, at the same time) to say that the Tallyho Alternative Olympics are officially closed.  Team Hummie comes home the big winners, atlhough there was plenty of gold to go around.  It was a day of laughter, tears, aerial attacks (the hummies, all amped up on suger - go figure) and memories.  Some of the more memorable performances of the day are featured on Tallyho Olympics Blipfolio Channel, including...

A last minute entrant, Team Painted Lady, bumped the other butterflies in synchronized nectaring.  

Dudleykiev from Team Squirrel returned to lead his team to soccer victory!

Another late entrant in the broad jump (Team Wheel Bug) took the gold in that category.

Team Downy Woodpecker finished in the medals in beam.

But, the big winners were Team Hummie.  In spite of their habitual over-indulgence in sugar water, they pulled it together and swept all gymnastic categories.  The team captain in the aerial category, in spite of being in the throes of an unsightly molt, led her team to a sweep!  I couldn't decide who to feature, so you get this composite of the team, all shown against a background of their Olympic Gold Medal (okay, actually it is a hibiscus stamen - don't nitpick!)

I'm quite happy to report that I woke up feeling much better this morning - cold is moving out just in time for the hubs to return home after a week-long trip.  So, yay!!  I hope you've enjoyed the Tallyho Alterntaive Olympics as much as I have.  Not quite as inspirational as the real Olympics, of course, but a bit of light fun.  I don't know about you, but I'll be watching the Closing Ceremonies of the real Olympics tonight, glued to my television.
