Destruction

Not only are the fairies demolishing their little homes, the tree surgeons have demolished another noble tree on Middle Meadow walk. More trees have been felled this year than ever before. It will be a shame if the character of this beautiful avenue is unalterably changed.

We had another outing this morning to buy Brussel Sprouts- not any old sprouts, but M&S Brussel Sprouts, fat, clean and ridiculously expensive.

However this time we walked to the second closest outlet in well heeled Morningside, an area which together with neighbouring Bruntsfield is fuelled by more cafes than probably anywhere else in Great Britain; and yes as you will have guessed, His Lordship and I are on skid row as far as cakes with coffees go.
For many months earlier in the year, I made myself immune to cake charm, then I allowed myself a corner of HL's chosen cake, but now he wants a whole cake to himself and so generously chooses two cakes which we share in the ratio 2:4.
This is not good, and the result will be tears on the scales.

Contemplating girth and its control, we peered through the windows of our soon to be opened revamped gym and were amazed at the number of equipment pieces that have been incorporated into the space.
Had there been this number of running machines in the gym where HL and I first met, instead of just two, my life might have been quite different.
