Riddles Court II

This is a detail of the painted ceiling in the Geddes Room of Riddles Court, an A listed courtyard house off the Royal Mile.
I quote from a pamphlet produced by Scottish Historic Buildings Trust:

'It is one if the most historically significant buildings within the World Heritage Site. No other building can lay claim to the wealth of influential and creative people who have chosen to live or work within its walls since it was built in the 16th century'.

In that case you might think His Lordship and I to be a tad intimidated as we sit with our pencils sharpened and blank sheets of paper in front of us and the ghosts of JamesVI, the Earls of Lauderdale and Cromarty, Seton, the Chancellor of Scotland and David Hume stalking the building.

Not so, and in fact so un intimidated are we, that HL, a man of huge sensitivity on many fronts, decided to return for another week to the class whose doors he vowed never to enter again.
And I rather think he enjoyed it although of course he's keeping his options open.
