Mapping

Blaze’s accident closed the state highway for approx. 3 hours on Sunday – the Serious Traffic Incident unit were there mapping out what happened and clearing the road. I should have a report from them within a few weeks – all we can say for absolutely certain is that Blaze was not in any way at fault.

This outline of his bike, in its final resting place, looks rather like the South Island. Funny how something so horrific can be pared down to such simple lines.

With all the paperwork in Dunedin tidied away and arrangements made, we headed back to Christchurch. I couldn’t go past the site without stopping. Ghoulish I know, but I thought it might help me comprehend a little better. It didn’t.
