Rose Campion

Neil went to work today. I advised against it as he's still not back to full fitness. But he said that if he was off sick then someone else would have to give up their day off to go into work. There are only 3 of them to cover all the shifts over 7 days so its hard to take up the slack when someone is off. Hope he had a quiet day. He has a short shift tomorrow then a day off on Tuesday so he can take it easy then.

I was going to spend some time gardening today but its been rainy so I stayed indoors. Watched the football. Good match between Holland and Mexico. Holland were very lucky to get through to the quarter finals. Now its Costa Rica V Greece.

Popped outside this afternoon to put some bird food out as there was a gap in the rain. Took the opportunity to get my blip shot. This flower is Silene Coronaria - also known as Rose Campion or Dusty Miller. Lovely pink flowers which brighten up the border.

Just been outside to feed the hedgehog. He comes every evening and I give him dried meal worms which he polishes off very quickly.

My daughter and son in law ran in the Humber Half Marathon this morning. They stayed in Hull over the weekend. They used to live in Hull and go back for a visit at least once a year. Hull seems to have a bad reputation but they love it.
