Morecambe Bay

Had a lovely day out with these 3. We took a trip out to Leighton Moss RSPB Reserve, North Lancashire. It isn't far to drive and the weather was great. Ash had to stay in the car while we were on the reserve, but we also took a walk down onto the Morecambe Bay marshes to give him a run about at Jenny Brown's Point.

At the reserve some of the lagoons were still still frozen at the edges, keeping the birds away from the hides, so I didn't get any close-up shots of anything. Birds I don't see often were there: teal, widgeon, shellduck, snipe, pintail and, rarely seen in this country, snow geese.

One thing that was also nice was to take photos at their very well visited bird tables, same birds we get in the garden at home, but used to having lots of people around them.Take a look at the series Chippy took of a chaffinch at the feeding station.

I've put 3 more of shots of the reserve on Flickr.
