Life's Little Moments

The Patient

This is Rocket, who is currently in "sick bay" in our extra bedroom. I was up around 4 this morning (not on purpose) and observed him having what may have been some sort of seizure - poor thing just keeled over, lost control of his bowels and lay there panting for several minutes. Scared me half to death and I immediately woke hubs. As soon as the vet opened, we called and they were able to get him in early. He's a terrible patient and it took two techs and the vet to hold him down to draw some blood.

We will get the results of the blood work tomorrow and, hopefully, it will help the vet diagnose what happened. Whatever it was, he recovered fairly quickly and didn't seem to have any lingering physical symptoms. But, it's still a worry.

Meanwhile, since he now smells like the vet's office, we need to keep he and Phoebe separated until he smells more like himself - otherwise we'll have the mother of all Jihads on our hands.

Very shortly after we got home from the vet, the clouds rolled in and the rain started. We are now having severe thunderstorms and parts of our area are under tornado watch! Crazy. Needless to say, no traipsing through parks or on the beach for me today - and certainly not carrying a large piece of metal (camera!) So, what you have is Rock's rather lovely (and menacing) eyes. I did manage to snag a couple of shots of a group of titmice who were at my feeder when I got home - here's a shot of a soggy titmouse!

Hoping you all have a Marvelous Monday.
