SURPRISE SURPRISE!!

The grey morning greeted us early, another day without a glimpse even of the sun.
In the morning a young man with many skills of TV, computer and the like came to help us with some installations. He did repair our CD player too.
After lunch we set out for a visit to the horses at the Eisenbahnerheim.
We hoped to find them at this time of the year, because in summertime they dwell in meadows outside town. Where that is, changes a lot, we think.
One hill down first, then the buying of the carrots and after that the hill at the other side of the river up. A well known walk for us.
To our surprise there came a horse and a pony running towards us. One of them was certainly Beauty, but the other one?
No sign of Paule and Lucky however.
We were just giving the two their carrots, when a car came upon the small road, a woman jumped out and started to cry loudly at us. Don't feed them!! in german of course.
We replied from far that we only gave carrots, not bread or sugar at all.
We recognised the owner of the horses and walked towards her, explaining who we were, that we came so often to give the horse carrots and she always had consented with that. Although we had not seen her for a long time.
She objected at first, then we shook hands and she recognised us and apologized.
That she repeated several times.
We asked her where the other horses were and who the pony was, was it family of No Name (Beauty to us)?
The horses were still in their summer dwelling and the pony was owned by her neighbour.
So all went well in the end. And we said goodbye in high spirits. And she apologized again, but we could so easily understand her concern about the feeding. The horses would be sick when they ate bread.
We walked down the hill. Met a good friend near the harbour, talked for a while with her and soon enough we came home for tea.
In the picture you see the two dark coloured ones running towards us.

My haiku:

Be gentle with animals
With persons too whenever you
Wherever you are

To catch two pigeons with one bean.
