The Pensioner

Rooftop

I'd parked the car on the rooftop of Bolton's market hall and walked over to look across to the town hall. I took this photo as I was taken by the blue car, the markings and the sky. No big deal. I checked my phone and saw a missed call and three texts.
The news was that one of my pals had died suddenly the previous night. It was an utter shock and I still can't believe I'll never see George again or have a blether with him and share a pint or two. I'd blipped him at the end of March (he's in the middle here). He was a fit wee bugger too - originally a joiner, he had worked as an architect for years and was a fine and artistic woodworker. We'll all miss him.
