Cat's cradle in the old town

This is the oldest part of the village - the sloping wall on the left of the frame is a buttress that was probably part of the original fortified settlement nearly a thousand years ago. Even these very old houses need electricity and they are as likely to have a satellite dish as any of the newer ones.

I wasn't sure this would work as it breaks all the rules, taken straight into the low winter sun, but I like it better than others I took this morning, because of the light. It was almost midday when I took this photo, so that's as high as the sun gets at this time of year.
