Happy New Year!

Had a great Hogmanay with friends, Linda and Jurgen and their children in Gifford. Fantastic food, much laughter and fireworks and champagne to toast in the New Year. We also participated in some New Years Eve lead pouring called Bleigiessen. We each melted small chunks of lead in a spoon held over a flame and then quickly poured the molten lead from the spoon into a bowl of cold water. It hardened immediately and each person then tried to determine what he or she saw in the resultant shape. This then would determine the future or fortune of that person for the year to come. It was great fun from the sizzle and steam of the hot lead hitting the water to the ooos and ahhs of people as the shape was revealed. Mine resembled a ladle, not quite sure what that signifies!!

Driving home in the wee small hours was quite exciting too, negociating our way past branches and in one instance a huge tree blocking the road completely.

Now we are all just chillin, enjoying each others company and feeling pretty damn fine!

2007 is going to rock!
